Dawsons Creek Recap 10/24/01

Episode #503 - "Capeside Revisited"

Joey:

Joey is out to dinner with Jen and Audrey. While on her way to the bathroom, she spots Pacey in the kitchen. She is shocked and talks to Jen about it. Jen tells her hes been in town for 3 weeks. Joey asks why she didnt tell her and Jen explains that Pacey didnt want her to.
When Joey and Audrey are back in their room the next day, Audrey asks whats up with this Pacey guy. Audrey convinces Joey to go and see him, because she is pretty and doesnt know it and she is smart and doesnt know it.She explains to Joey that she probably doesnt like relationships because they are messy and unpredictable.
Joey goes to see Pacey. They start making small talk about their relationship and Pacey says, Oh Yeah, we dated once, didnt we? They still have fantastic chemistry and she comes on board his boat and they continue talking.

Jen:

While at dinner with Joey and Audrey, Jen receives a call from Charlie. Its a booty call and she rushes right over. The next day, Jen realizes she doesnt even know where Charlie is from, so they decide to try to go 12 hours without any sex. After hours of trying to find something in common, they start to have sex, but have no condoms. Charlie takes Jen to break into the student center to steal FREE condoms. They do it on the student center floor.

Dawson:

Dawson goes back to Capeside to inform his parents he is leaving his college in California and moving to Boston. Mitch is very mad and disappointed in Dawson. He thinks he is just chasing a girl and it will ruin all the dreams he has had for filmmaking. Mitch tells him hes not choosing his own path hes just following Joey down hers. (So True!) He sticks to his guns though and moves in with Jen, Jack and Grams.

Jack:

Jack is having a blast with his new buddies. They ask him to join his fraternity. Jack says he doesnt know and tells them hes gay. They all laugh and say they already knew that and that was one of the reasons they wanted him, so they looked diversified. Jack is excited and joins!

Pacey:

Pacey is at work and pissed that hes just slicing potatoes instead of cooking. Karen keeps coming in with an attitude and Pacey wants to know why. Later, Paceys boss throws out the 40 lbs of potatoes he has spent forever slicing and Pacey freaks. It seems that his boss was just giving him slicing practice before letting him actually cook. He also tells Pacey that Karens problem is because she wanted that job and he didnt feel she had enough patience for it.

At the End of the Show:
Dawson is waiting for Joey when she gets home. He tells her it didnt go well and they decide to go for coffee. Then we see Mitch driving in his car eating an ice cream cone. The top of the cone falls off and Mitch proceeds to chase it around the car while driving; NOT a good idea! He finally looks back up and it appears a car is headed right for him.

RUMORS

DON'T Hold Your Breath . . . They're Just RUMORS:

**10/24 The Dawson/Jen sex thing is in the works but it will happen under-- "unusual" circumstances. They will not be in a relationship. But to repeat, the big folks are reconsidering Pacey and Joey again because of the huge amount of support and mail they've received on the matter from fans. That's all I can say for tonight kids but I'll keep you posted. [Submitted by: Lozz]

**Pacey and Joey will get back together mid-season. It's too soon for them to start again, they need to find their way slowly but surely. Remember how long it took in Season #3, it will be the same this season.

**The actress who plays Karen (the "Pacey love interest") is only contracted for less than ten episodes. So anything with Pacey and her will be short-lived. Audrey is not a permanent character yet but they're working on that. No, she and Dawson will not hook up.

**The Dawson/Jen sex thing is in the works but it will happen under- "unusual" circumstances. They will not be in a relationship.

**At the frat party in 507, Dawson gets drunk. Anyway, the scene on the docks (The party is on the docks, so everyone is there) while Dawson is drunk he makes a call on his cell phone to Joey at her dorm. He doesn't get Joey on the phone and leaves this long message and ends it to the effect of "If it weren't for you, I'd still have my father." Basically Dawson is blaming Joey for Mitch's death.
What Dawson doesn't realize is that Joey was right next to him the whole time and we get a shot of them looking at each other face to face.
This is the precursor to D and J's fight at the train station, Dawson going to therapy, and a new found bond with Jen that ultimately leads to Dawson and Jen having sex.

**Dawson is supposed to come home in episode 505 and he moves into Grams' house with Jack and Jen.

**Michelle Williams is leaving the show at some point this season (credit AOL Entertainment).

VANDERBEEK's NEW FILM

Most screenwriters grovel to get their scripts made, but not Roger Avary, who wrote and directed 1994's ''Killing Zoe.'' After winning an Oscar for cowriting ''Pulp Fiction,'' Avary was inundated with job offers, and ''like any other sensible person, I cashed in,'' says the busy script doctor. Frustrated by studios that ''wanted the same thing over and over and over again, something boiled up in me and I became furious. I had to write something that was impossible to make, and put it away.'' But after producer and friend Greg Shapiro (''Affliction'') -- who knew about Avary's penchant for shelving his own scriptsdemanded to see the writer's adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 1987 novel ''The Rules of Attraction,'' a nonlinear story about spoiled college kids, he brought it to Lions Gate, which agreed to finance the $5 million drama. ''Rules,'' which will star ''Dawson's Creek'''s James Van Der Beek as a debauched, rich student, is ''aggressive, abstract, and extreme,'' says Avary, who's nearing the end of filming. On the other hand, he continues, ''When we first turned in 'Pulp Fiction,' everyone said, 'This is a piece of s---.'''
