ABC NEWS and GOSSIP The Mole's on Hold Who is The Mole? And does anyone care right now? Chalk it up to a tough timeslot and a slump for all reality-TV shows not named "Survivor," but ABC's onetime hit series has been sabotaged early into its second run. After three poor-performing episodes, the network is yanking "The Mole II: The Next Betrayal" from its Friday lineup--the first time a serialized reality show has been pulled before its completion. Viewers still hoping to find out who the Mole is may now have to wait until next January or March, when ABC is hoping to relaunch the series. (Note to the winner: Are you really good at keeping secrets?) For now, ABC is replacing The Mole with less mentally challenging reality show America's Funniest Home Videos, at 8 p.m. Click Here to Read the Full Story! Cancelling "What About Joan" Has ABC Shuffling Shows For now, ABC viewers will get a double dose of ''Dharma & Greg'' from 8 to 9. On November 6, ''Spin City'' will move from 9:30 to 8:30, and ''NYPD Blue'' will appear at 9 on Tuesdays instead of 10 on Wednesdays. (That date's season premiere of ''Blue'' will air opposite the series premiere of Fox's Secret Service drama ''24.'') Jason Alexander's struggling ''Bob Patterson'' will move from 9 on Tuesdays to 9:30 Wednesdays, followed by one of ABC's news magazines in what would have been ''Blue'''s spot. EW.com "WHAT ABOUT JOAN" Well, what about her? She's history. Joan Cusack's show, at 8:30 Tuesdays, has been canceled. It's the second ratings casualty of the new season, after CBS canceled Daniel Stern's ''Danny'' earlier this week. Vanessa Marcil (Beverly Hills, 90210) did not luck out after all. She was suppossed to have a recurring role on NYPD Blue, but it turns out it will be a one shot deal. She will be on their 2nd episode as detective Carmen Olivera in Steven Bochco's police drama, which is heading into its ninth season. The actress replaces Rosa Arredondo, who was cast in the role this month (HR 8/6). Marcil's TV experience includes a six-year tenure on ABC's "General Hospital," which earned her two Daytime Emmy nomina-tions, and a two-season stint on Fox's 90210. Film credits include "The Rock." She is repped by Innovative Artists. (Nellie Andreeva)
